Rancho as your No. 1! Don't you remember how close they were to losing that game to Charter Oak? And they only scored 13 points and allowed a safety to Upland? While Miller pitched a SHUTOUT in its regular-season finale? I'm a bit confused.

I figured you'd like that one D-Pope. I think overall Rancho played a tougher schedule than Miller and deserves to be rewarded. As for Friday night, they were battling 50 mph winds but found a way to win. The safety was a wind-blown punt snap out of the end zone but those were the ONLY points they allowed. Miller shutting out Fontana and its 12.5 points per game in league, while a fine effort, isn't exactly a feat. I think Charter Oak, which is a very quality team evidenced by its No. 1 playoff seed, was lucky not to have lost to Rancho the way Rancho was driving at the end of that game.

Los Osos will play Elsinore Friday night at 7:00 pm, and you can hear all of the action on for free at www.sportsnetusa.net, with Steve Hassler and Greg Crouse.

Our petty bickering over Rancho aside, that's a great photo. Did you shoot that one?

I can't take credit for shooting that one; Staff photog John Valenzuela captured the postgame euphoria. I will say that I think that picture very much represents Rancho's response to you doubting their No. 1 status.

Miller is just below the 210 FWY and played in similar winds. It seems strange for a number one team to win 35 to 0 to go down to #2. I wonder if you would have put Rancho over REV or Redlands if they had won league. This is good in a way. People keep underestimating Miller and they keep winning. Hopfully, that continues on Friday night v. Roosevelt.
