Kaiser RB/CB commits to USC
Kaiser High School senior-to-be Anthony Brown verbally committed on Thursday to play football at USC.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back/cornerback received an offer from USC after attending its football camp two weeks prior to committing. Brown, who doesn't know if he will play running back or cornerback in college, also had scholarship offers from Nebraska, Colorado, UTEP and San Diego State.
"He's always been impressed with USC," Kaiser coach Phil Zelaya said. "He decided he wanted to go there and compete with the best."
Brown rushed for 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns his junior season, helping Kaiser to a playoff appearance. He has started at running back for two seasons and started both ways as a junior.
"They offered him as an athlete," Zelaya said. "He isn't too concerned with where he'll play, he just wants the chance to compete."

Clay,
Do you have access to the stats from the Southern California Fiesta Bowl which took place Saturday? I wasn't able to make the game.
I heard the Inland Empire beat the LA County team and I found some articles written about it but none of them were Inland Empire newspapers so there wasn't much coverage on our boys.
Are you planning to write anything?
I'm particularly interested to hear how many yards A.J. Johnson racked up. Someone in town who went said it had to have been 150 yards but he was only guessing. One of the LA County papers mentions that he covered about 75 yards in two plays to help break the 21-21 tie.
Anyway, I think it would be nice for people to know the Inland Empire won the game and which players came up big in the win.
Let me know if you have any information you can share with me.
As always, thanks for all that you do,
Joe the Plumber

I do have those stats... I wrote a story on the game for Monday's paper (we had to wait until Monday because the game ran past our deadline). I'll post something on the game soon. (A.J. had 105 yards).

Thanks Clay. I read your article today and thoroughly enjoyed it...
I wrote a comment on that article as well, but never saw it posted... Now I can't even find the article anymore.
Thanks again Clay
