All-Inland Valley football team, end of year awards
PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Anthony Brown, Senior running back/defensive back, Kaiser High School
The USC-bound Brown missed two games this season but still compiled 1,681 yards and 18 touchdowns on 198 carries in leading the Cats to their ninth consecutive Sunkist League championship and the semifinals of the CIF-SS Eastern Division. Brown, who is talented enough on both sides of the ball that USC hasn't yet determined what position he'll play in college, had 55 tackles and an interception as a cornerback.
COACH OF THE YEAR:
Tim Salter, Upland High School
A season after graduating four players with a collective total of circa 50 scholarship offers, Salter led Upland to its first CIF championship since 2000. With members of an offense that averaged more than 35 points per game gone to Stanford, Northwestern and Arizona State, Salter rode a defense that held opponents under 11 points per game to his third CIF championship at Upland.
San Dimas' Bill Zernickow finished a close second after guiding the Saints to their first ever CIF championship this season. After taking Diamond Ranch from its second consecutive 1-6 start to a second consecutive CIF championship game appearance, Roddy Layton was under consideration along with Los Osos' Tom Martinez, who led the Grizzlies to the school's first-ever CIF championship game after losing 38 seniors.

I like the fact that two centers are recognized-from Rancho Cucamonga and Upland. The center position doesn't get much spotlight but these two players are essential on their teams. I do not know either player but I've been told that Berwick is the true leader on the RCHS offense. Congratulations to all the players! I think each school is represented fairly.
What's with your picks on the Defensive line??? George Uko and Tony Washington I can understand, since those guys are raw talent. But How did Marcus Gluck and Gregory Triay from Upland not make first team? Together they recorded 20.5 sacks and a whole bunch of hurries. They also each record over 60 tackles and they were part of the best defense around these parts. You took away a great honor from these kids. Hell give Gregory Triay 2nd team at least! Just like you said with Corey sims, he had the top vote for All CIF.
What about REV players????????
Surprising! you have players with lower stats than players who went on to CIF and made an impact to there team to move on.I won't say any names cause the players have been picked and it wouldn't be right to say they don't deserve it.Somebody didn't do there home work.
Auston Johnson had 60 tackles and weighs about 230 and had 16 tackles for a Lost as a "Junior".Dont give me that non sense ,That kids a "STUD"

Marcus Gluck had 70 tackles and 11 sacks
Greg Triay had 64 tackles and 9.5 sacks
Both of them arent on first team and there is someone like Auston Johnson in front. Dont bring up stats if you have no idea what your talking about.
WHAT BOUT THE REDLANDS EAST VALLEY AND REDLANDS HIGH PLAYERS?????
Redlands and REV are not in the Daily Bulletin coverage area, required to be eligible for the All-Inland Valley team.
You wish Auston Johnson was around that much to make 60 tackles... He had 49 tackles. No way to prove the 16 tackles for loss. But I believe Greg And Marcus both had around 15 since they were always make plays in the back field. I'll try to find out the exact stats. By the way the kid isn't a "stud." He is a good player. But when Offenses have to double team him every game like they did to marcus and greg, while they still get great stats... If he can do that... then he will be a "STUD"
A good background check service is hard to find.
Upland Fan ChinoHillsfootball.net shows the final stats from the last game so check it out and Auston Johnson is also All CIF and has more awards to come so do your research.

Gregory Triay and Marcus Gluck were both All Cif. And also, I believe Greg Triay got the overall vote for the All CIF which means he was the top dog. And just like his two other teammates, (Corey Sims and Timmy Helton) he was in the running for Defensive Player of the Year. And thanks for the stat site. It would've been nice if I had that before I made that last comment on his tackles. But still, overall statistically Greg and Marcus are still ahead of him. And the way those boys play, they play bigger then they are. These kids shouldn't be able to do what they do most of the time, but they just got heart.
Roberto Borge, no por que seas el marranito preferido del gober se te quita lo doble cara y mentiroso.
correction rancho's TRUE LEADER was under center for 3 count em 3 years, wow
well you could say you didnt see it coming anthony brown player of the year josh shirley first team all league out of Kaiser baby.
