Upland's future QB works out with Brehaut, Bechtel
Here is a link to a scout.com story about Upland High School freshman quarterback Nate Romine, who worked out with UCLA's Richard Brehaut and Brehaut's offensive coordinator at Los Osos, Matt Bechtel, the current Colony head coach.
Romine has a busy summer ahead, during which he'll take part in several prestegious quarterback camps before taking a few unofficial visits to some big-name Pac-10 schools including USC, UCLA, Oregon, Cal and Arizona.
The question is, how busy will Romine be when the season starts in the fall? We may have a great battle brewing for the starting quarterback job with the incumbent Justin Nunes, who battled injuries last season but ended the year as the signal caller for the CIF champions.

Clay Fowler has been covering high school sports for six years in California and Texas. He was born in Dallas, attended the University of Texas and worked in Central Texas before joining the Daily Bulletin staff in 2006.

Romine is going to be a great ball player in the future. Good poise and strong arm. He is still about a year away though plus Nunes should be able to carry the team next year. Is there a chance that maybe Becktayl is recruiting for Colony?
Nice story on the young man. In the photo it seems brehuat and romine get along great. Alway's good to have a role model that you can look up too. It seem's Upland has two good quarterbacks. Some school's don't have one. Upland should be in good shape.
Richard Breahaut is a very nice young man with a teriffic future ahead of him. Coach Bechtel has done a great job with him and Richard has taken his ability and what he's been taught and moved on to the next level. As far as anyone thinking that Coach Bechtel is "recruiting", nothing could be further from the truth. Coach Bechtel's Quaterback Camp is very successful and he has quarterbacks from all over Southern California attending and gaining the benefit of his training and knowledge. No offense to young Mr.Romine, but Coach Bechtel has quaterbacks attending his camp that are just as good and possibly better, sharpining their skills at that same quaterback camp. That kind of poisionous talk only hurts the the young men, their parents, their schools and their football programs so please refrain from that venomous rhetoric. Coach Bechtel is an honorable, loyal and honest man.
haven't heard about any rancho qbs being in anybody's camp, please tell me I' wrong!
where is our QB? it doesnt seem to be a priority i hope we get a recruit or someone steps up!
