All-Valley Softball Awards
Player of the Year: JESSICA HALL, Ayala, Senior, Pitcher
The Gatorade California Player of the Year bound for UCLA led Ayala to the first CIF softball championship in school history. Hall went 28-3 with a 0.68 ERA and 336 strikeouts. She pitched four no-hitters, including two perfect games and the 5-foot-9 senior didn't allow a run in the first four games of the playoffs. She was a force at the plate too, batting .340 with a team-leading five home runs and 32 RBIs.

Coach of the Year: BOB "BUBBA" DEJOURNETT, Upland
In his ninth season coaching the Upland softball team, DeJournett led the Highlanders to their first CIF championship since 1997. After a first-round scare - Upland beat Long Beach Wilson with a walk-off three-run home run - Highlanders pitcher Whitney Jones didn't allow an earned run the rest of the way while a pair of freshman DeJournett inserted in the lineup produced some key hits, including the lone RBI single in a 1-0 semifinal victory over Redlands. Upland (21-9-1), which finished second in the Baseline League to defending CIF champ Etiwanda, ended its dramatic playoff run with a runaway 10-2 win over Temecula Valley in the CIF-SS Division 2 final on June 5.

WHITNEY JONES, Pitcher, Upland, Sr.
The Washington-bound pitcher led Upland to its first CIF championship in 13 years with a 1.57 ERA and 191 strikeouts. She pitched three no-hitters this season and didn't allow an earned run after the first round of the playoffs in earning first team all-CIF honors. Jones was the Highlanders' most potent offensive force as well with a .382 batting average, four home runs and 14 RBIs.
NATALEE PULVER, Pitcher, Etiwanda, Sr.
The Baseline League co-MVP who will play at Marshall next year had a microscopic 0.55 ERA for the league champions. A year after pitching Etiwanda to a CIF championship, Pulver went 18-3 with 100 strikeouts as the Eagles won league and earned the No. 1 playoff seed in CIF-SS Division 2.
CHLOE WURST, Pitcher, Bonita, Sr.
The Miramonte League MVP struck out 277 batters in 154 innings in leading the Bearcats to a league championship and the semifinals of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs where she was a hard-luck loser of a 1-0 extra-inning affair with eventual champ Ayala. The first team all-CIF selection posted a 19-4 record and was an offensive force with a .357 batting average and 12 RBIs.
ERIN JONES-WESLEY, Pitcher, Los Osos, Sr.
The senior bound for Long Beach State allowed 14 earned runs all season while ringing up 211 strikeouts in 138 innings as a first team all-Baseline League selection. Jones-Wesley compiled a 12-8 record for the third-place team in the Baseline League.
KAYLA NORRIE, Catcher, San Dimas, Sr.
The second team all-CIF selection who signed with Portland State was a dominant power hitter, swatting 11 home runs and collecting 47 RBIs for San Dimas. The 5-foot-9 Norrie had a .484 batting average and a .989 slugging percentage for the Saints, who won the Valle Vista League and reached the CIF-SS Division 5 semifinals.
ALEENA AVALOS, Infield, San Dimas, Jr.
The junior shortstop shredded the base paths to the tune of 43 runs scored. Avalos hit for poser and average, batting .588 with five home runs and 26 RBIs and a .913 slugging percentage for an San Dimas squad that won the Valle Vista League title and reached the CIF-SS Division 5 semifinals.
PRISCILLA MARTINEZ, Infield, Kaiser, Sr.
The first-team all-CIF shortstop batted .466 with a home run and 20 RBIs for a Kaiser team that finished second in the Sunkist League. A two-time first team all-Sunkist League selection, Martinez was a .351 career hitter for the Cats.
SAMANTHA SPRINGER, Infield, Summit, Sr.
The second baseman earned Sunkist League MVP honors with a .560 batting average, one home runa and 21 RBIs for the league-champion SkyHawks.
SYDNEY STEWART, Infield, Diamond Ranch, Sr.
The third baseman batted .507 with six home runs and 27 RBIs for the Panthers in addition to scoring 19 runs. The first-team all-Miramonte League selection had a .570 on-base percentage and a .918 slugging percentage for Diamond Ranch.
ABRINA LOCKETT, Outfield, Colony, Jr..
The co-Mt. Baldy League MVP hit .490 with four home runs and 19 RBIs. She scored 34 runs and had a .536 on-base percentage in leading Colony to a co-league championship with Ontario as the Titans won five of their final six games of the regular season.
MARY MASSEI, Outfield, Ayala, Sr.
The Wisconsin-bound outfielder ended her senior season in style, hitting the game-winning grand slam in the fifth inning of the CIF-SS Division 3 title game, her second consecutive game-winning hit. The first team all-CIF and first team all-Sierra League selection batted .487 with two home runs and 17 RBIs
TERA VAUGHN, Outfield, Etiwanda, Sr.
The first team all-Baseline League outfielder who will play at Colgate next season batted .420 with two home runs and 18 RBIs for Baseline League champion Etiwanda, which earned the No. 1 seed in the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
MELISSA TAUKEIAHO, Utility, Etiwanda, So.
Primarily a third baseman, the Baseline League co-MVP batted .514 with two home runs, 22 RBIs and 24 runs scored for the Baseline League champs. In her limited pitching opportunities behind teammate Natalee Pulver, the sophomore went 2-0 with a 0.70
