so when is Upland gonna get some love from the daily bulletin. They had the game of the week yet Etiwanda and Miller were the game of the week? WOW!! To bad fred Robledo didnt cover sports in the Inland Empire. His sports blogs are great and he gives respect to the teams that deserve it. Our sports writers from the daily bulletin need some work. I think we were suppose to loose every game per the Daily bulletin, im sure this wont change this week against Loyola. Upland proved it should be ranked #1....

Etiwanda at 2-2 is ranked three because of strength of schedule?

Clay Fowler Author Profile Page said:

Yeah, Etiwanda's ranking has a lot to do with who it has played and how close it has played them. I don't think it's right to penalize Etiwanda for playing a tough nonleague schedule and reward teams who don't play much of a nonleague schedule so they can pile up insignificant wins.

Rev should be #1 on this list ? Im from Yucaipa but lets get real, Rev has a tough schedule and is better then any of those teams .

Big Hawk said:

Doesn't matter anyway Etiwanda is far better than the teams that are behind them so there is no comparison. Lets talk about the two teams at the top. Rancho #1amd for good reason. They have the best defense in the conference,as well as a rock solid offense. They have the best lineman offensively and defensely. I forgot they probably have the best secondary in the IE,LA,OC and everywhere else. On to Upland clearly they have the best Wr in the IE,Lawler is a mismatch for everyone but Rancho, they also have a good RB,so clay has done his homework and has it right. We will see if Rancho lockdown corner #4 Chris Hawkins can put the clamps in the highly recruited nationally known Kenny Lawler. If that happens Upland is in for a long night

REV would certainly be right up there but the only schools eligible for this top 10 are the ones in the Daily Bulletin coverage area, which doesn't go further east than Rialto.

Rancho is over rated and it showed against Charter Oak! Charter Oak should have lost to Glendora who is 1-3 and held their own against an alleged power house Rancho. Rancho dosent have the skill guys to keep up with Upland and Upland has shown big lineman mean nothing. Tustin and Norco had bigger lineman then Rancho and Upland controled both sides of the ball. Rancho will loose to Upland and Etiwnada...

football fan said:

How can anyone say that Ranch has a great defense. They haven't played anyone, I'm sure the Q.B from charter oak will say different. He ran circles around the Rancho Players.

TNT said:

Upland will smash Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda and every team in the baseline keep on thinking that all they have is lawler, if you think that, you guys have something coming. The only team that is going to be beat upland. this year is UPLAND!!!! that's right.

tnt said:

Hey Clay how do you have Upland in the top #3 in the inland polls and #2 in the baseline poll i just don't understand that. you are contradicting yourself mean

RCFOOTBALL said:

As long as I can remember Upland and Rancho get no love from the Daily Bulletin, Especially from Clay. I have become used to this treatment. I look forward to when we play in the SGV or PE area, they know how to cover high school sports. Daily bulletin has not figured it out if they covered high school sports better they would probably get more readers and sell more papers.

Big Hawk you are too funny, had to throw your boy out there...I think he can shut down Lawler. That will be one hell of a game in 3 weeks.

The CIF-SS Inland Division poll is voted on my many media members and CIF officials, so I have very limited influence on how it turns out. The Daily Bulletin top 10 is something that I compile by myself.

football fan,

Yea those circles equaled 13 points, and that is the only stat that matters. They were averaging 36 points a game before that. Now the smashing you so call on Rancho will never happen. We always match up well with you guys and it always comes down to the end of the game.

You have to go back to 2007, since the last time you beat us, so get real. There will be no smashing by either team. You have played one real team with the second coming this Friday. I hope you all win to represent the Baseline league.

Do not get ahead of yourselves just yet. We know you have more than Lawler, he isnt even your best player. You have about 5 or 6 other top players on that team, you do not win big games with just one player, you need a team and that is what we have also.

Looking forward to you all smashing us on Oct 21st, just like the last 4 games..

Ya, I was at the (Upland/Norco) game last Friday. I got there when the score was 14-14, then Upland performed the flea-flicker and it was all over from there. The Riverside County Sheriffs walking around were in shock, along with all the Norco fans. I think Norco has a good team, but Upland has a NFL type receiver, and a college type running back. Upland is far more improved from last year, and should have their way with the Baseline league. This Upland team can hang with Vista Murrieta/Centennial this year. I think Loyola maybe a little to much, but Upland is extremely fast this year, their defense is just a little on the small side. But don't let that fool you, Upland 's D went head's up with some of the biggest O-line men I have seen this year (Norco). Rancho on the other hand, is good but has had a easier schedule than Etiwanda and Upland. Overall, the Daily Bulletin does the poorest job on prep football, the Riverside Press Enterprise school's everyone in the region.

Big Hawk said:

You know i had to sneak that in there. Lmao. Upland fan i wish you the best of luck tomorrow night. Your hands will be full trust me. I might make the second have of your game considering our starters will be out at halftime. Furthermore before Upland van be ranked ahead of the cougs they need to beat them. Last i checked rancho beat them last year. The reason Lawlers name is mentioned is because he is a pav 12 guy from your school. How many of those do you have? My point exactly. The object of the game is to beat the team in front of you no matter record or where they come from and we have done that. So we will see who wins in three weeks.

Why is there no mention of the kid from Etiwanda, Barr who happens to lead division II in receiving as well as the IE and Baseline league: with numbers like this....115 vs. Summit, 188....vs. Vista Murrieta and 113 vs. Norco all championship teams.

Big Hawk said:

Good game Rancho Cucamonga and Upland. Inland divison doing well.I hear rb from Upland went crazy.Rancho was rock solid against redlands giving up score with 3 minutes in game.ANOTHER INT from Chris Hawkins, then no more passes thrown his way.See ya'll in 2 weeks for the big one.

Pre season is over and looking forward to the regular season. I was very impressed with Upland and how they did with there tough pre season schedule. I'm sure it has more than prepared them for the regular season. Etiwanda and Los Osos also had a tough pre season schedule that they handled very well. Should be a great season.

#1 Upland
#2 Etiwanda
#3 Rancho (only because they are defending champs) week schedule will show!
#4 Los Osos
#5 Glendora
#6 Altaloma

Big Hawk said:

Wow only because we are the defending champs you have us ranked #3.That just goes to show that you are a hater. When is the last time upland beat Rancho. When is that last time Etiwanda beat Rancho.daa idk.Guess Rancho should really be behind Glendora but because they won the won league last year you will give them the benefit of the draw.To tell you the truth your preseason might have hurt you more than it helped you because I'm sure that San Bernardino will be playing for the championship.Norco was over rated with a 19 year old quarterback. Also remember Etiwanda and Upland played the same pre season last year and when it was time to play the Cougs!!!They both lost.Remember that.

You forgot to mention Loyola! Well if you want to bring up the past we can do that! How many CIF championships does Rancho Have? Ok, we are done with the past with that said.

Rancho played one average team and struggled (Charter Oak). Charter Oak should have lost to Glendora so look out for Glendora..

I'm still trying to figure out how are pre schedule will hurt us. We played one team that was weak, you played 4 weak teams. Upland has improved more and more with each game. Norco was not over rated and neither was Loyola, but if that makes you feel better then believe that.

ALL I HAVE TO SAY WHO HAS RANCHO CUCAMONGA PLAYED. CHARTER OAK THAT'S ABOUT IT AND YOU GUYS BARELY BEAT THEM. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PAST UPLAND IS GONNA SMASH THAT ASS!!!!!!!!
