Over 1,000 transfers in CIF-SS in August alone
We probably didn't need a press release to discover that there is no shortage of transfers in the CIF-Southern Section. In August alone, there were 517 documented transfers, according to the press release, 325 valid changes of residence. There were 74 foreign student transfers and 61 hardships with another 47 pending. The grand total adds up to 1,024 in one month. Just to add a little context, there are 581 schools in the CIF-SS.
Though August would seem a natural month to transfer seeing as it's when most schools begin classes, things don't appear to be slowing down in September. In the first two days of the month, there were a total of 191 transfers in the CIF-SS.

Why doesn't the CIf do away with the boundrys and let kids go where they want? It is not working as is and the recruiting is a reality. This is nothing new.
The only rule of thumb for transfers should be "...is there room?".
CIF does allow all kids to transfer with no penalty as long as it's done before the start of their sophomore year.
