There are some good matchups this week. Osos vs Rancho, Upland and whoever, and so on and so on.

I have to say, I watched Upland against Osos and maybe because Upland was playing Osos, but they were not this big bad beast people have been posting about. Yes the score indicates a blow out, but that was more from Osos miscues (overhead snap twice, interceptions, etc.) than from any overpowering offensive performance by Upland. Maybe Osos matches up well with the Highlanders. I dunno. But what I do know, Upland needs to play much better if it has long range plans beyond the first week after this last week.

Before Upland fans go posting flaming barbs, to have Osos repeatedly drive the field on your defense several times - as easy as they did is a problem. Your own coach said [Upland] felt threatened. You should have been because the men in skirts are a vulnerable team.

Not so fast...I need more love then that...i will be in the inland empire during the holidays and want to watch my old school win it all...how good is centenial(sp) and is that their biggest threat?? Or trying to beat RC twice?? And if Upland wins out is there any chance of them playing at home depot for state??

It was hard for me to reply to your post because it was so ridiculaous. Los Osos did not, does not match up with Upland. The score proved it as well. Our Jv players played most of the 4th qtr. In varsity football, that means blowout...

I don't know how you think the game went in your mind, but Los Osos couldn't stop upland in the second half and we scored at will.

So if we blew u guys out and if we continue to play like that...we won't last after the first week??? So what does that mean for Los Osos?? Get a clue man

Not So Fast My Friend said:

@Kenneth. Should Upland go far, they'll def have to compete against either Centennial and/or Vista Murrieta. Centennial is playing well, but that's always. VM had to forfeit five games, but they are still powerful. Should be good either way.

@Upland Fan - Perhaps you were wearing your 1960's oversized Twilight Zone sunglasses that cold Friday evening. Perhaps you had your face buried in your hot coco. Doesn't matter. What I posted was simple fact. Your own words blow holes in your post. Interesting you said, "...Osos couldn't stop Upland in the second half..." - What happened in the first half? What was the score at halftime? We already know that answer, don't we? lol

Upland scored off of several miscues by Osos. Or did you not read or see that? Over the head snap, interception - the list goes on and on. When Osos wasn't shooting themselves in the foot, they did move the ball on Upland. Very strong teams (Upland?) do not allow mediocre teams (Osos) to do that. That either says a. Upland took them lightly, b. Osos matches up well. c. Upland is vulnerable. You pick. Your description of "...scoring at will..." is neither accurate or factual.

Yes I said if Upland has any plans on going deep in the playoffs past the first week, here's a tip. You don't take anyone lightly. Foot to neck from here on out. Anything less and you'll be couch bound.

You mention Vista Murrieta, they had some problems putting away Los Osos which we did not. We are not in control of what mistakes teams make. Good teams know how to win and we have done that all season. Los Osos also gave Orange Lutheran a run for there money..

But I guess those 2 teams need some work as well..LMAO

Upland is a good team, but not the beast they claim to be. CC is the team to beat with Vista, Upland and Rev the next favorites. Then you still have RC and North, both with only one loss. I would love to see RC play Upland again with some nuetral Refs and maybe a nuetral field, Would be interesting. CC will be 1 seed vista or Upland 2 and 3 seed with REV the 4 seed. The rest will be depending on this weeks games. If RC beats Osos they will probably be in the CC half of the bracket having to beat probably REV and CC to get to finals, very difficult task. Upland will probably contend with North and Vista to make it to the final. Go Baseline hope we can win many playoff games as a league.

HOW DOES A TEAM QUALIFY FOR STATE...at home depot?? I want UHS to make it...do I have a chance or do I not?? I will be visiting from the other side of the country and I want to watch my former H.S not only win Inland, but state..any reply would be gr8!!

Football Fan said:

Look Upland has two chances for state slim and none. You have Servite and Westlake. Servite will get the Open division and Westlake will get the Div 1. Plus Upland still has to win the INland which I do not think they will. Most likely they will have to Beat at least Vista Murrieta and one other top team just to make it to the finals. THen they will have to beat either CC, REV or even RC. I am hoping for an Upland loss myself, just because I cant stand the arrogance of the Upland fans.

Kenneth Guth said:

@football fan...lol...that's how it was when I went to school their nobody liked us...don't start nothing won't be nothing..Servite or Westlake must lose in playoffs and UHS needs to win out and hope to play CC for strength of schedule..then a chance!! I appreciate your post even though your on that haterade, but it's all good that's what makes sports so much fun...How about if they win it all you have to put on a Scottish kilt and play a bag pipe..lol

keakthesneak said:

To the above poster, there are several undefeated and one loss teams in the inland division so what you are saying is true of every team that qualifies for a playoff spot. People like you are always wrong until you're right. People like you have been predicting an Upland defeat every week of the season so far. Tell me the team you are rooting for and I bet said team has a loss to Upland or to a team that has lost to Upland.

keakthesneak said:

Plus after Servite's sorry showing against DLS at the open division bowl game last year, you would think the people in charge of making these decisions would want the Southern Section to be better represented. Last year, I think only our small school team won.

the U FAN said:

Mr not so fast... errr Mr very slow...

We have heard this kind of noise week after week... bad refs, bad plays, uplands weak, home field advantage, we recruit players, we pay refs, we pay players.. WE LOVE IT ALL. What does this mean? People are angry because we beat there team. We went undefeated and our kids step it up time after time. You can't take that away from our kids. Thanks for posting, all it does is let us know how much people are thinking about UPLAND.. 10 and 0. Dosent that sound greatttttt...

Football Fan said:

Losers my team is CC I just did not want to show that. You Upland people are hilarous, I dont hate Upland and have never lost to Upland...You just are not as good as you think. You will lose and I will be there pulling off your kilts and laughing at you all..HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Upland went real easy on Rancho cougars and Osos. They kept the playbook short. Rancho only has 1 loss because they have a real easy pre-season schedule with division 8 and d-5 teams. They don't want to wear down the team, which makes sense, it is a long season. Sorry to say but Upland is battle tested. Upland could have scored 50 on Rancho and Los osos, but there is no need to show off. We made our point. Fact: Rancho cuc. cannot beat Vista or Centenial or Upland. One loss means nothing whenn you beat easier teams, but always lose to the better teams. This is why u could'nt get past Vista last yr and Vista knocked out your QB and RB. Everyone knew the game was over.

keakthesneak said:

You must be fairly young then. Upland beat Corona Centennial back in the Mike Bass days (pretty sure it was Mike). You won CIF in your division that year and your only loss was to Upland. I believe Upland won the Inland Division that year.

upland fan said:

If your a CC fan then you would know Upland has beat CC. So I figure your a Rancho or Los Osos fan. I would be embarassed too...LMAO

CC is only playing for a CIF championship this year, I'm sure u with a half a brain knows that their loss to St Bonaventure will prevent them from the State bowl game this year. So of course I would love for REV and Upland to play in the IE CIF finals this year. Those are the only 2 teams that have a shot to play in the State bowl game this year.

Say what you want about Upland, but we are a lot better this year and CC is not close to as strong as they were last year..

Not So Fast My Friend said:

@the U Fan... First, stop biting the real "The U" and come up with your own. LOL... I like your post, but I don't recall making those claims. I think you're more of the insecure Upland faithful. I say that because Centennial, Servite, etc. never have to come on a post and chest thump like you felt the need to.

Upland has a good program, no one has said differently. I didn't propose that Osos would/could beat Upland. I pointed out that very good teams don't let mediocre teams take them 14-14 at the half. The bulk of the points Upland gained in the second half were from Osos turnovers, un-caused by Upland. Somehow you and the rest of your clan feel as if no one raises their sword in your honor that somehow you're not getting praised enough. "Me thinks thou protests to much" So the question is can the Upland team I saw beat Servite? No. Centennial, No. Vista Murrieta, No. Good luck getting another run against Rancho as well. I don't think you're gonna be able to spank them twice. Well maybe, but either way, your road to CIF is a short one. Enjoy the ride.

If you're going to quote Shakespeare, at least do it right. "Methinks" is at the end of that quote. It's drier, and more cynical that way, just like the Bard intended.

Kenneth Guth said:

???? How come MAX PREP likes UHS more then the CIF polls?? Sounds like the BCS mess to me...Those war of words on the above post are gr8...just in time for the playoffs!!

Upland Vet said:

Your right good teams don't let teams stay 14-14, but we always finish the game. Did I hear right that Rancho Cougers barely went into half time up 14-7 over Los Osos last night. I will get hold of the video by Sunday. Right! I heard Rancho has no passing game and only one real runningback. I want to view the quarterback and critique it myself. Heard he has a hard time against tuff defenses.

Rancho Fan said:

I see that you are going to attack the Rancho Cucamonga Cougers now. Last time I have checked RC has beat Upland a few times, and beat them twice in one year for CIF Championship. This is the first win in a while for Upland against RC.

In the game against Upland RC had a few mistakes as well. They were going in for a touchdown to tie the game up and fumbled at the one yard line. Then the coaching staff made a mistake when RC got the ball back and Upland ended getting a field goal to go up 17-7. So with those mistakes and a few others the game would have been different.

One more thing and you almost lost to Etiwanda as will.

So we will just see how it plays out in the playoffs.

Not So Fast My Friend said:

@keakthesneak - you're right, it does. But I didn't think Upland Fan would have got it. Lol.

Well the season is officially done. Now we see who's who.

I look forward to seeing/reading more of everyone's posts. :-)

keakthesneak said:

Upland has avenged all of last year's losses. There is only one big one left and we will see what the brackets look like on Sunday. We haven't seen Upland really open up the offense yet. They have the tools to get the job done this year.

Hey Clay.. how come you don't add any of your own comments? Rob Robeledo every once in awhile will toot his own horn and defend himself every now and then. Just curious what you think of all this blogging??

By the way, I like how you guys stepped it up this year. Good job this season
