Yucaipa native earns weekly soccer accolade

UC Riverside goalkeeper Jessica White is the Big West Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week for the week ending September 5.

The Yucaipa native picked up the eighth shutout of her career on Friday evening as the Highlanders upended Texas State, 1-0. In the second match of UCR's swing through the Lone State State, White recorded 12 saves--the fourth highest total in the history of the program--but a second half Longhorns score gave Texas a 1-0 win.

The Longhorns match marked the second time this season that White has been credited with double-digit saves. Her goals against average on the week was 0.50, and she lowered her season GAA to 0.75.

The Highlanders are 1-3 on the year and travel to San Francisco for their next match on Friday, September 10 at 7 pm.
