Victoria 9, Reign 4.

The Reign allow a whopping 50 shots on goal, 41 of which Jeff Zatkoff stopped, as their two-game winning streak was snapped in a big way. They allowed two power play goals (out of five penalty kills), and even a short-handed goal late in the first period.

Brad Mehalko scored twice, and Bud Holloway and David Walker scored the other goals for the Reign (34-23-3-1). Chad Starling's assist on Mehalko's second goal was the 100th point of his ECHL career.

The real undoing came during a 2:45 span of the middle period when Victoria scored three times on Zatkoff. Dan Knapp had the worst stat line of any Reign skater: no goals, no assists, minus-5, two penalty minutes. Sounds like a tough day all around, but they get three more chances (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) to turn it around before heading back home.
