Murray says he'll start tonight for Victoria.

John Murray, who appeared in 24 games for the Reign last season, said that he will be the starting goaltender tonight for the Victoria Salmon Kings at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

"What I think is going to be worse than the crowd is if I go behind the net to play a puck, and somebody says, like Geoff Walker calls for the puck, I'm going to instinctively go to pass it to him," Murray said. "I think that might be the difference. They know my weak spots. I know where they're shooting. It's going to be a crapshoot."

I'm a Reign fan who was dissapointed in Murray's trade last year. The kid stood on his head in most of his starts when called upon due to a promotion or injury of another Reign goalie last season, giving himself a shot in the 'A' in Syracuse. A lot of the credit to last years on-ice success should go to Murray's contributions. Unless there was something going on that Reign fans were totally unaware of, Murray was the odd man out when Jeff Zatkoff and Kellen Briggs returned to the lineup. He also began the season strong playing behind a rather sluggish offense earning him ECHL goalie of the week in the early days of this current campaign. I have to admit I've got to pull for Murray tonight to at least keep it close if not steal the contest altogether.
