Twin brothers Donte and Dorian Mack entered not guilty pleas during an arraigment Thursday on charges stemming from the deadly shooting of Devin Tervelle McDavis at a San Bernardino apartment complex.

Donte Lazonn Mack and Dorian Lavonn Mack, both 21, were arraigned in San Bernardino Superior Court, confirmed Deputy District Attorney Ron Webster, who filed the case. They return to court Sept. 2 to confirm their lawyers, he said.

McDavis, 26 of Fontana, was shot Aug. 11 inside the Foothill Villas apartments in the 2600 block of West Second Street, in San Bernardino, according to San Bernardino Police.

Police arrived at the apartments at 1:47 p.m. and found him with wounds to his head and torso. Paramedics took him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, in Rialto, where he died at 2:20 p.m., San Bernardino County coroner's officials said.

Police said the incident appears to be a rival gang shooting.

A third defendant in the case, Chrystopher Lamarr Young, 22, a suspected gang member, is in custody in prison for a parole violation. Webster said Young was still in prison Thursday.

All three defendants have been charged with murder and a special allegation for the use of a handgun.
