Fontana man sentenced in real estate forgery
SAN BERNARDINO - A Fontana man was sentenced to 120 days in county jail Wednesday for his role as an accessory in a real estate forgery case.
James Badalian, 45, pleaded guilty to felony accessory charges in connection with forged documents and was sentenced, under the terms of a plea bargain reached with prosecutors, in San Bernardino Superior Court.
Badalian forged victims' names on two different Acknowledgement of Satisfaction of Judgement documents, and later recorded them at the San Bernardino County Recorder's Office, on two separate occassions, in 2002 and 2004, accordiing to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.
The documents were notarized using false notary stamps, prosecutors said.
Investigators from the District Attorney's Real Estate Fraud Unit arrested Badalian at his home in Fontana on Nov. 28, 2006.
The issue of restitution has been reserved.
