Jury verdicts in Honey Jordan trial to be read at 1:30 p.m. in San Bernardino
Jurors in the trial for Hector Miguel Aguirre, who was charged with the violent carjacking and shooting death of Hannah "Honey" Jordan, have reached verdicts in the case, prosecutors announced today.
The verdicts are to be read publicly at 1:30 p.m. in Dept. S17 in San Bernardino Superior Court, according to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.
Aguirre is accused of fatally shooting Jordan in the parking lot of a Highland Avenue doughnut shop on New Years Eve 2001. Jurors have been deliberating since Aug, 28.
The defendant faces charges of murder, carjacking and special allegations for the use of a handgun. However, because Aguirre was extradited to the United States under an agreement with Mexico, he will face a maximum of 65 years to life in state prison if he is convicted on all charges.
Jordan, 54, was the wife of well-known neurologist Kenneth Jordan, who has worked at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton and St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino. The couple were married for 31 years and had three children.
