A 24-year-old Pomona man accused of stabbing his girlfriend repeatedly in August pleaded not guilty in Pomona Superior Court Wednesday to felony charges of attempted murder and mayhem.

Jose Luis Rodriguez repeatedly slashed his girlfriend of two years Aug. 30 at a home in the 500 block of Randolph Street where Rodriguez had been living for several months, police said.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled Wednesday for Dec. 10. Rodriguez remains in custody in lieu of $1.1 million bail.
