Iyesha Marie Lightcsy pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning in Fontana Superior Court to beating her 17-month-old daughter to death.

Lightcsy, 27, and boyfriend Ivan Benjamin Hancock, 46, are charged with murdering Amber Russell on Aug. 4, 2004, in Colton. Colton police were called to an apartment after receiving a report that a child wasn't breathing. Amber died not long after.

Hancock and another girlfriend have also been charged with killing the girlfriend's 15-month-old baby in San Bernardino. A prosecutor recognized Hancock's name after the second baby was killed.

Hancock, imprisoned on separate drug charges, has not yet been arraigned.

Lightcsy is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 20.
