Ontario woman, 30, accused of lewd act with 13-year-old autistic boy
A 30-year-old woman accused of convincing a 13-year-old autistic boy to perform oral sex on her was arrested last week and charged with committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child.
Margarita Oropeza, of Ontario, lived next door to the De Anza Middle School student in the 1300 block of S. Sultana Avenue, according to a police report attached to her court file.
On Oct. 21 at about 11:45 a.m., the boy was walking around the front of his home, and Oropeza called over to him and asked him to come to her home, the boy told police.
The boy told police that he has known Oropeza for 4 years, and attended her wedding.
Once he was at the home, Oropeza convinced the boy to massage her feet for about two minutes. Afterward, she told him to come over the following day.
The boy told police he felt Oropeza had pressured him to massage her feet, and he felt he didn't have a choice but to do it.
On Oct. 22, the boy came home from school, dropped off his backpack and went to Oropeza's home without telling his mother where he was going, he told police.
He found the woman in her bedroom. Oropeza locked the bedroom door and told the boy to massage her feet.
About one minute into the foot massage, Oropeza took off her pants, then made a physical gesture toward the boy suggesting he perform oral sex on her, he told police.
The boy told police he felt obligated to comply, and he said he performed oral sex on Oropeza momentarily but stopped because he said he felt disgusted.
After the boy stopped, Oropeza and the boy heard someone enter through the front door of the home. Oropeza told the boy to hide in her bedroom closet so they wouldn't be seen together, he told police.
He went home a few minutes later after he was able to leave without being noticed by other people in the home.
As he left, Oropeza told the boy not to tell anyone about what had happened, according to the police report. The boy told police he was at Oropeza's home that day for a total of about 10 minutes.
After the boy returned home, he went into his room and began to do his homework. His mother told police she felt something was wrong with him, and she went into his room to talk to him.
The boy was making gagging motions. She said she worried he was sick. After she questioned him, he told her about what happened at Oropeza's home, she told police.
When police investigators interviewed Oropeza on Oct. 28, she initially said that on Oct. 22 the boy came into her home and grabbed her breasts after she came out of the shower.
Under additional questioning from the officer, Oropeza admitted she asked the boy to come over to give her a foot massage.
She told the officer that during the massage, the boy began to kiss and suck on her toes before taking off her pants and performing oral sex on her.
She told police she did not plan the incident, and blamed herself for letting in occur. She said she did not stop the boy from doing it because she enjoyed it.
Oropeza pleaded not guilty to the charge in West Valley Superior Court on Friday. The charge carries a prison sentence of 3, 6 or 8 years.
She was scheduled to appear in court again today. She remains in custody at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
