Jury selection began Monday in a trial against two men charged for their involvement in the March 1, 2007 shootings at a Victorville night club.

Alex Romero Watson, 30 of Victorville, is charged with murder, attempted murder, assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the deadly shooting of 24-year-old Phelan man Jacob Eric Jackson and the shooting of Victorville resident Eric Buchanan at Sand Bar.

Harold Kirkwood Parker, 31 of Apple Valley, is being charged with assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury and two counts of being an accessory after the fact.

Jury selection at Victorville Superior Court will probably take all week, with testimony possibly beginning on Dec. 8, said deputy District Attorney Britt Imes.

After a fight that started on a dance floor, Watson shot Jackson in the chest, officials said. Parker was reportedly seen kicking and hitting Jackson.

Officials also said Watson also shot Buchanan, a witness, in his groin in the parking lot.
