Pomona couple charged with murder for daughter's death to appear in court Tuesday

A Pomona couple accused of allowing their 2-year-old daughter to die from malnutrition will appear in court Tuesday to be arraigned on murder charges.

Prosecutors say Lupe Lopez and Gabriel Garcia, both 28, failed to properly care for Isabelle Garcia, who weighed only 19 pounds at the time of her death.

At a preliminary hearing last month, a foster parent who cared for Isabelle Garcia before the girl was returned to her parents said Isabelle Garcia weighed 20 pounds when she was one year old.
