Davidson, Ezra.jpgMemorial services will be held Saturday for Ezra Davidson Jr., 46, a well-known online-media entrepreneur who died Jan. 1.

Davidson, of Pomona, was co-founder and head of business development for a streaming online-video company called SyncCast, whose clients included Microsoft and various movie studios and record companies.

Lance Ware, Davidson's SyncCast business partner and friend, said Davidson was popular with his collegues in the streaming online-video industry and easily recognizable by his loud laugh.

"Everybody always knew Ezra, and they always knew him by his laugh," Ware said.

Davidson died at his Phillips Ranch home from a single gunshot to the upper body.

Davidson's wife, Adrienne Renee Davidson, 46, has been arrested and charged with murder for the killing.

On a memorial Web site established for Davidson, located at memorialwebsites.legacy.com, 60 friends and collegues posted brief remembrances by Thursday evening.

Many expressed sorrow and shock over Davidson's sudden and unexpected death, and many gave tribute to his contributions to his industry.

"I am greatly saddened to hear about the loss of Ezra," reads a typical entry, from Philip N. Kaplan of Costa Mesa. "Ezra contributed greatly to his industry, and was one of those warm personalities who brought a lot of energy into any conversation."

A funeral service for Davidson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Drive in Covina. A visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m.

Davidson is survived by two children -- an adult daughter, Jessica, and an 8-year-old son, Matthew, according to his biography on the memorial Web site.

Ware said Davidson's father is setting up a college fund for Matthew.
