Accused murderer's girlfriend admits accessory allegation

RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- The girlfriend of a man charged with murder pleaded no contest this afternoon to charges alleging she was an accessory to the killing after the fact.
Christina Marie Pena, 19, was set to be released from custody following the hearing in West Valley Superior Court.
The Montclair woman is scheduled to return to court in November to be sentenced, said Deputy District Attorney Tom Colclough.
Pena's boyfriend, Jose Ramon Lopez, 25, is accused of shooting and killing 38-year-old George Salsgiver of Ontario on July 24 in the parking lot of a Stater Bros. supermarket in Montclair.
Prosecutors accused Pena of lying to investigators in an attempt to concoct an alibi for Lopez.
Lopez, an alleged gang member from Montclair, faces a maximum prison term of at least 50 years to life if convicted of the charges filed against him by prosecutors. He's next due in court Aug. 20.
