A Rancho Cucamonga woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to a number of felony charges concerning real estate fraud.

Mojgan Cox, a 50-year-old former real estate broker, was charged with conspiracy, money laundering, grand theft, and forgery, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County district attorney's office. She was sentenced to five years in state prison.

Cox, also known as "Mona," is one of six co-defendants charged and arrested in the case, which involved laundering money from an escrow trust account into a corporation, according to the news release.

Officials said the money was used to buy a residence in Yucaipa, which went into foreclosure. The accused defendants transferred the money from the home back into a general account for Exclusive Escrow Services, which is owned by Cox.

The money was used for to pay the office lease and personal bills, according to the news release.

Cox is the third person involved in the fraud to plead guilty.

Cox's son, Jesse, who opened the escrow trust account, is another defendant in the case, according to the news release.
