Ontario man pleads not guilty in ex-girlfriend's killing
RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- A Ontario man pleaded not guilty to murder charges this afternoon in the stabbing death last week of his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend.
Danny Vasquez, 20, is accused of fatally stabbing Jessica Flores on Thursday in the 1700 block of East Fourth Street in Ontario.
Police said that Vasquez stabbed Flores at about 2:30 a.m. inside a parked car in an alley behind the apartment complex where he lived. After the stabbing, he called 911 to report the killing, police said.
"(Vasquez) stabbed his girlfriend and watched as she bled to death," Deputy District Attorney Dan Ross said during Vasquez's brief arraignment hearing in West Valley Superior Court.
Flores' family members and friends said today that Flores and Vasquez dated on-and-off for about a year after meeting on MySpace, but had been split since August.
Flores met with Vasquez last week "to end it," said Flores' sister, Lorena Flores.
Flores' friends and family members said Flores, a student at Chaffey High School in Ontario, loved to sing and dance and was always smiling.
"She was the happiest," Lorena Flores said. "She would spread joy everywhere."
Flores lived in Ontario until about a year ago, when she moved to Bloomington, her family said.
Vasquez was wearing orange jail scrubs during his arraignment. He didn't appear to make eye contact with anyone in the audience, which consisted of his family, Flores' family and others.
Before the hearing began, Vasquez looked down, and later turned his back to the audience.
He spoke only once during the hearing, saying "please" when Judge Michael Libutti asked if he wanted an attorney appointed to represent him.
Ross asked Libutti to order Vasquez held without bail. Libutti declined Ross' request, but agreed to set Vasquez's bail at $2 million.
Vasquez is being held in West Valley Superior Court in Rancho Cucamonga, and he is next due in court Thursday. His family declined to comment to a reporter after today's hearing.

I know this girls mother and this is horrible, poor girl. her mother is so distraught.
its so heartbreaking, she was so full of life, this guy needs help, as in jail time, hes obssesive, violent, and a fucking sociopath and he needs to think about what he did for the rest of his life, the pain he caused the family of this girl. how could someone have the darkness in their soul to decide their going to end another human life.. disgusting, he needs to be put away.
He disgust me his whole mind setting killing her and then pleading not guilty. i hope he rots in jail 2mill no one will come up with that money. i'm also glad he didn't get the death penalty now he gets to live his life full of regret and suffering and to top of it ALONE thinking about what he did makes me vomit. Jessica was a sweetheart wouldn't hurt a fly she constantly sang to me como la flor by Selena i miss her. this selfish as* was the last one to see her he didn't deserve her now we all have a piece of our heart in pain. i will always remember her and she will forever be in my heart

You guys will say anything at this point.He will deal with the consequences at the end,But let this be known she was not all that innocent herself.If people want to sit there and down grade Jr then why not as well tell how Jess was with him.She tore him up and ripped him into pieces.All he wanted was to be loved and all he got was lies,cheat, and was verbally abused to thee extent of him having low self asteem because of it.Danny is an amazing person,I dont have not one bad thing to say about him.I don't agree with what he did but I know he is sorry and will live with regret for the rest of his life.I know if he can take it back he will.It's all in gods hands and I will stick by his side through it all.

i knew danny use to kick it with him everyday for3 years stright he was a good friend to mei know him real good ....theres something she did that thik him off he use to have better girlfriends then her
