Best 'backers

| | Comments (2)

Goldenstatepreps.com just posted its top 15 state linebackers, according to position.

Making it at middle linebacker were Brandon Phillips of Redlands and Norco's Dallas Kelly.

On the weakside, Corona Centennia's Brandon McGee, Norco's Damion Whittington and North's John Wright were honored.

Strong-side mentions went to Corona Centennial's Jerry Hardeman and Silverado's Dominic Bonetpels.

What do you think ... did the Web site miss anyone?

Bonetpels' selection isn't surprising, but Goldenstatepreps.com made an error in one respect -- probably out of of convenience. He'll be Silverado's middle linebacker this season. That tidbit comes straight from Silverado coach Carl Percy, now entering his fourth season at the southwest-Victorville school.

Thanks for that notation on Bonetpels, Jimbo ... but I have a notation for you as well: It's Silverado coach Carl Posey. Sorry, the dog couldn't resist.
