Serrano v-ball ace MIA
Only one high school girl from San Bernardino County made John Tawa's prepvolleyball.com list of top 100 in the nation Senior Aces. Serrano's Caitlin Ledoux checked in at No. 27 in Tawa's rankings. Unfortuantely for Serrano, Ledoux is not playing her senior year for the Diamondbacks.
Terry Ledoux (Caitlin's mother) told Prep-dog on Monday her daughter was disenchanted with the Serrano coaching staff, but wished her former teammates well. Caitlin said at the end of last season she would not return to the Diamondbacks.
"It wasn't a positive or safe atmosphere for her because of the coaching staff," Terry said.
Said Serrano athletic director Gary Weiberg: "We had a problem with the parents saying (Caitlin) had out-grown the coaching staff, with all of her high-flying club stuff and so forth."
Weiberg confirmed Terry had mentioned to him alleged unsafe drills and the like - a complaint she also made to Prep-dog.
"I've gone out and watched practice and we don't do anything differently than what anyone else in the world does," Weiberg said.
Ledoux, a 6-3 outside hitter, will play on scholarship next season at Long Beach State. She is currently playing beach volleyball and recently received (along with teammate Jocelyn Neely of Huntington Beach) her AAA rating. A triple-A ranking is one step from the pros.
A county girl who is playing prep ball and made Tawa's just-released Top 101 to 250 Senior Aces list is:
outside hitter Morgan Carty of Upland, a returning All-Sun player. The Highlanders are ranked No. 1 in the sbsun.com/prepdog county rankings.
