Volleyball statistics

| | Comments (0)

We're trying to improve our reporting of individual-game volleyball stats, both in what's reported to us and what we gather in person. So listen up, VB coaches:

We're looking for kill leaders (one or two), assists, digs, blocks and aces. Prep-dog is 51 years old, which is 357 in dog years. I can't keep all those stats, so if your people can have as many of them available as possible after each match covered, it would be appreciated.

Regarding stats called into the paper (909) 386-3865 ... call as soon as possible after the match, provide three or so stat leaders and try to spread the praise around during the season. Slowly spell all difficult names - which in these days of Cyndis and Terrans and Jazmines is all of them.

If you're the home team , try to gather stats from the visiting team to report, as well. If you're the visiting team, call anyway to assure your players are mentioned. Don't forget league and overall records for each team.

Call after every match, win or lose. This routine just outlined is true for all sports. Questions? Concerns? Speak to the dog at berdooman@aol.com.
