Cajon to unveil sign

Cajon has re-done the sign honoring its 1987 CIF-Southern Section football champions that adorns the scoreboard area at the stadium.

"The sign has been going downhill for about 6-7 years and we really wanted to re-do it," said Stephen Imbriani, a Cajon teacher and coach and a tight end on that '87 team. "With this being the 20-year anniversary, it was the perfect time."

The Class of 2007 ponied up the money to pay campus employee Rory Pratt for the materials to construct the sign, Imbriani said.

Imbriani also invites members of the 1987 team to return and be honored at the game.

It is ironic that for so long Cajon was thought of as the worst football program in town. Now, it's probably known as the best. It is also ironic that Cajon always had the talent and when its coaches learned how to deal with the athletes they succeded. Many of the Cajon players who played on losing teams went on to success in college football.

GO COWBOYS!
