Rim girls back on court tonight

| | Comments (0)

School is not yet back in session, but the Rim of the World volleyball team will play a match tonight.

The Fighting Scots are at Apple Valley at 5 p.m. in a Mojave River League match.

Rim closed down last week after so many residents of the mountain communities were evacuated due to the wildfires. That included Rim coach Linda Pattison, who lives on Edgecliff Drive, near where the Grass Valley fire began. Pattison wasn't out of her un-damaged house long, although some of her players scattered to such places as Palm Springs, Santa Barbara and even the Grand Canyon.

Asked why the Grand Canyon, Pattison said: "Well, you have a lot of time off and you can either sit around smoky old San Bernardino, or go somewhere."

Rim may play as many as four matches this week as the Mojave River League tries to determine its champ and other playoff representatives before the seeding meeting Saturday.
