Too good to be true

It seems like Twentynine Palms junior basketball and football standout Montreal Harris really is a peach of a guy. Here's a story the Prep-dog forgot to include in today's feature on Harris.

In a recent Wildcat playoff game, Harris missed a dunk. That prompted loud laughter from the opposing coach, said Wildcat coach Larry Bowden.

Later in the game, Harris responded with one of his resounding dunks, then flashed a menacing stare at the opposing coach. That drew the ire of Bowden, who scolded the Wildcat player.

"The next morning Montreal called me and apologized," Bowden said. "Then he asked if he should call the (opposing) coach and apologize to him."

That's not something you hear every day.
