Did CIF-SS go too far in ending Dash's promising career?
The CIF-SS has ruled Miller student-athlete David Dash, a star football running back, ineligible to play sports for two years following his mid-year transfer from Fontana. Since Dash is a sophomore, that means his career is over, pending a possible appeal to CIF-State and possibly some legal wrangling on the part of the Dashes. They've hired an attorney.
Prep-dog's previous blog item boils down the issues. A lengthy story in Wednesday's Sun and Daily Bulletin will provide more specific details, with quotes from a host of interested parties.
Read it over, then tell Prep-dog what you think. Are the Dashes getting what they deserve or is the CIF-SS out of line for meting out this very stiff penalty?

Yes, CIF went to far with this kid. Dash is an outstanding young man who gets good grades, stays out of trouble, and is respectable. He did all the right things about leaving Fohi and this is how they do them.
Vance and Ozier can play that dumb game all they want, but we all know there the ones who called CIF back with that bogus info. What I find even funnier, is the hyprocisy that is going on at Fohi! For years Bruich used to recruit kids all over the IE, but CIF nor anyone else said (booh)! But now when a (sub-par) school, with a (sub-par) coach/team sees their star leaving, they want to cry foul!
The kids legally transfered! Let the kid be free and enjoy his last 2 years of high school.
If FOHI were producing a quality athletic product, I am sure this (transfer) would not have happened... So here's an idea, lets coverup our incompetance and destroy a kid's opportunity to play a sport where he prospers and does some good!!! Sounds like a plan to me. It's what prep athletics are all about right?? Destroying kids!!!
