Prep-dog, despite traffic, achieves clarity

All of the exhaust from those vintage Route 66 Rendezvous automobiles did not cloud the Prep-dog's crystal ball this week. He went 27-4 on prep football picks and is 63-20 for the season.

Today the dog takes the Prep-kid to the Rendezvous to check out all the cars that look better than my '89 Oldsmobile.

In my high school days I owned a '56 Chevy BelAir and for about a year after graduation I owned a '61 Chevy Impala convertible - for which I paid $650. If I woulda, coulda, shoulda kept them, I'd a been stylin' at the '66! While at the Fontana Herald I wrote a feature about a father and son who owned vintage vehicles. The dad told me that if a '61 Chevy Impala convertible could be found, it would command a price tag of $100,000 to $250,000.
Ouch! Now, I drive an '01 Hyundai Elantra.
