Report: Boron football player dies

Vinnie Rodriguez, a Boron High football player injured in a game against California School for the Deaf Riverside, has died - the Los Angeles Times reports.

Rodriguez was a sophomore running back and safety who "succumbed Tuesday night to head injuries" incurred last Friday against CSDR, said The Times.

The Times article said the Boron team, two-time section champions during the 1990s, has decided to honor Rodriguez by proceeding with its game against host Lake Isabella Kern Valley, The Times reports.
