REV volleyball team ranked 24th in nation

The Redlands East Valley girls volleyball team has moved to 24th in the nation in the prepvolleyball.com rankings. The Wildcats were 28th in the pre-season national rankings.

La Costa Canyon of Carlsbad is still ranked No. 1 and Archbishop Mitty of San Jose (Kerri Walsh's alma mater) is No. 2.

REV has not played yet this season, prompting prepvolleyball.com's John Tawa to wryly note that "the Wildcats don't play an official match until September 23, which is only 18 days before Mississippi crowns its state champions."

The Prep-dog spoke to REV athletic director Rhonda Fouch about the Wildcats' late start. She said it is due to REV's long Citrus Belt League schedule and the amount of tournaments it plays in, including its own.

Congrats to the REV team...well deserved. Two of the stars of this team, Tori Brummett (Sr. 6'4" MB) and Krista Vansant (Super Soph 6'2" OH) are forces to be reckoned with. I have had the privelege of seeing them play first-hand as club players and they are as unselfish and fierce as any players in So. Cal.

Have a great season!

It will be fun to see when REV gets thumped by a real team from the O.C.
