Site of game won't be changed

The location of Friday's Miller at Rialto football game will not change, said district spokesperson Syeda Jafri today.

There has been a question in recent weeks about the safety of the Rialto High School field after the discovery of fire ants there two weeks ago. However, a private company was employed by the district last week to get rid of the ants, which bite and can be extremely hazardous to those who are allergic to their venom.

"There's no problem," Jafri said. "The ants were eradicated and the issue has been resolved."

Rialto coach Eric Rodriguez and Knights athletic director Dan Williams were unavailable for comment, but Miller coach Jeff Steinberg said he was planning on playing at Rialto.

"I think they got rid of them," Steinberg said. "No news is good news."
