Lawsuit Pro Bono? Update

| | Comments (0) |

The law firm that worked on behalf of Evlyn Wilcox to sue two candidates for city government continues to not respond to inquiry.

...

This reporter called twice Wednesday, Sept. 12, most recently at 2:04 p.m. This follows calls each of the last two days.
The question is: How much did you charge former Mayor Wilcox to sue city attorney candidate Marianne Milligan and city clerk candidate Joseph Turner to alter their candidate ballot statements? It is looking more and more likely that there is a problem here. Wilcox has been at a loss to explain when or how much her bill will be.

Riverside law firm Gresham Savage Nolan & Tilden worked for Wilcox and has also done work for the city over the years.
Unofficially, speculation has long swirled that Wilcox was doing the bidding of City Attorney James F. Penman, her longtime friend and ally. Penman and WIlcox have both denied that allegation.

Until the law firm and/or Wilcox start being more forthcoming, this will continue to plague this year's elections.
