Economic Development Director to step down

Numerous sources have confirmed that EDA Director Maggie Pacheco will soon be stepping down from her post.

No word yet on exaclty why Pacheco is leaving or who will be tapped to succeed her.

The EDA is in the middle of numerous major projects, including the $20 million-plus redevelopment of the blighted area surrounding Fifth and G Streets and the redevelopment of the Carousel Mall, of which the EDA is the biggest owner in total land.
