Mayor Pat Morris sighting

| | Comments (4) |

Considering the strong response of news of Mayor Pat Morris' sighting dining last week at a chic Asian cuisine with a bevy of staffers, I thought it important to relay some news buzzing around the room here at the Sun.

Staffers here - ok, hungry, near-destitute journalists - sometimes swarm Rosa Marias to refuel on carnitas and chile verde.

Mayor Morris also frequents the north-city taco stand, I'm told, proving that he doesn't just dine in Redlands.

Who cares where the Mayor eats?

While I endores the idea of supporting all San Bernardino businesses, and do so whenever I can, this "article" or "post" seems like it should be on TMZ.com or pagesix.com.

Let's get back to news, not gossip......

Tough call, George. In principle, I agree. But two factors tipped my decision to post this silly little "story."

1) I wrote a post the prior week pointing out that Morris was seen celebrating his birthday with a handful of staffers at a swanky restaurant in Redlands.

2. That post drew a number of responses, mostly from people who maligned Morris for taking his business to another city.

That said, I think you're right. I'll make sure not to sacrifice much time that should be devoted to "issues" by digging information for the gossip circuits.

Having been in the foray for so many years I've found that the "gossip" is what makes it so much more interesting!
