Bail has been set at $1 million for Michael Miller, the Operation Phoenix community center director arrested on suspicion of child molestation.

San Bernardino police and the FBI's Inland Regional Apprehension team arrested Miller at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Colton Avenue and Tennessee Street in Redlands.

He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and oral copulation with a minor.

San Bernardino police said Friday that no additional information was available about the bail.

The age and sex of the child has not been released. Police learned of the possible molestation Monday, according to San Bernardino police Lt. Scott Paterson.

Search warrants were obtained Wednesday night for the Operation Phoenix center and Miller's home near the Highland/San Bernardino line. Police would not say what evidence was recovered.

Miller, a Highland resident, has been with the city of San Bernardino for nine years, serving as a Police Department volunteer as well as a community service supervisor.
