Fred Wilson out as SB City Manager
Breaking news ... you heard it here first. The Sun has learned that City Manager Fred Wilson is leaving for a position with the City of Huntington Beach.
Wilson has been the top management official in the city since taking over in December 1996.

Wow!
While I am not surprised that Wilson is exiting stage left, I have to question the sanity of the folks over in Huntington Beach.
Wilson drives San Bernardino into the ground with his mismanagement, leaves us in what is purported to be a 15-20 million dollar deficit, apparently kept Mayor Morris and officials in the dark about rampant misconduct on the part of Mike Miller and lied to the District Attorney...and yet, he is still hired?
Thank you, Huntington Beach.
Good, Wilson's a hack, he's already run the city into the ground get em' otta here!
It's party time!
Huntington Beach won't make a final decision until Monday.
Good riddance to bad rubbish!
Talk about timing. Talk about luck. Talk about predictions. Man oh man, there will be talk around the coffee pots tomorrow and for days to come. Where else but in San Bernardino can you fall head over heals in to a big bucket of stuff and come out smelling like roses. Mr. Fred Wilson, long time City Mgr and employee is departing for the beach. Does his departure mean he is retiring and we continue to pay him for ever? Boy I am proud to do that, he being such a stellar individual of character and ethics. I bet he will get a raise too. More of San Bernardino’s management house of cards tumbles. Only this time, as I try not to judge, it would appear to be a win/win situation. The City wins and maybe Mr. Wilson will also win if the police and DA are through with him for making false statements in or during an official investigation. Were there laws broken, I defer to the DA. Were there false statements given to the police and DA, I defer to the Chief of the PD and DA again. Would I or YOU receive the same treatment, I defer to the good Lord cause most of us know that answer too. Last I heard if you lie giving information about a traffic ticket, they arrest ya! But, this is San Bernardino.
Now, the pressing question has got to be, What about Mr. Glenn Baude? Last I heard he was sent to the penalty box (commonly called Administrative Leave) for “his” questionable actions as deemed by a confessed liar (Mr. Wilson). Will San Bernardino retain his services or will he too bail from this ill run City that is full of bad politics and no leadership?
What is the score now of the Leaders of SB, who for some reason are no longer going to be with the City? Could it be two (2) execs and one (1) middle manager and counting? At this rate, the City budget will soon be balanced. Way to go Mr. Mayor, this was part of your grand plan after all wasn’t it? Roll a few heads and call it personnel cuts.
As this next level of our esteemed leadership departs, we must look around to see just who is remaining and who is or was responsible for this entire Operation Phoenix failure. The criminal side of this failure appears to be now under control. But what about the responsible side? The side that is going to cost or has cost the City untold amount of money to date and it is not over! Elections are how far off? Can the City survive that long under the current administration? Maybe by then we will have a balanced budget too.
