Letter of the week: Mayor, Iceman and bogie

Below is my selection for letter of the week. There were hundreds to sort through. Many were more complete, smarter, more passionate and more informative.

But this one was funny. Biting, satirical humor directed at political leaders has been a hallmark of American democracy, from Ben Franklin to Mark Twain to Will Rogers.

This four-line ditty came from an anonymous reader:

Tower to Morris: We have a bogie in your nine o'clock over city hall

Morris to Tower: Quick! dispatch Iceman to intercept the bogie!

Tower to Morris: Sorry Mayor, Iceman is grounded

Morris to Tower: Dammit!!
