Omerta at CinemaStar

| | Comments (2) |

This reporter just got back into the office after checking out CinemaStar to see what was new at the theater following Wesley G. Hughes' article that ran Saturday on the cinema's closure.

The place is indeed closed. A delivery truck was parked outside the main entrance, apparantly to haul stuff away. A message taped to the ticket windows reports CinemaStar is "closed for renovation."

A woman at CinemaStar refused to comment on happenings at the theater in any way. She also refused to provide any phone number for a company representative who would be able to comment.

Mayoral chief of staff Jim Morris said in Saturday's edition of The Sun that city officials are close to reaching a deal with a new theater operator.

I got tired of going there anyway. Everytime you walked through the alley behind the California Theater you were "hit up" for money by a bum. Don't have that problem in Redlands at the Kirkorian.

Where is Pat Morris during this? The only person we ever hear from is Jim Morris. The only time Pat Morris speaks is at the City Council meetings for prepared statements - nothing where you can ask a question!

yeah, I stopped going there two years ago because of agressive panhandlers and gang members wh wantd to beat you for looking at them wrong. thugs were always harassing people and the police stood by and rarely did anything about it besides park there.
