Air quality meeting tonight

| | Comments (0) |

The California Air Resources Board is set to hold a community meeting tonight to discuss a cleanup plan for the BNSF Railway yard on the Westside.

A study released earlier this year concluded that people who live near the rail yard face elevated cancer risks. A key problem is the diesel particulate matter that's gets spat out from truck and train engines.

The meeting is scheduled to be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. tonight in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 300 North D Street.
