New life for CinemaStar?

| | Comments (0) |

The City Council, in its role as Community Development Commission, is scheduled to take a vote today that would give Los Angeles-based Maya Cinemas exclusive rights to negotiate with the San Bernardino Economic Development Agency to purchase and run CinemaStar.

CinemaStar, located downtown, shut down in late September. Maya Cinemas is a Los Angeles-based company that has a multiplex in Salinas. The company focuses on cities with strong Latino demographics.

Maya Cinemas could start showing movies at the downtown theater by December, according to the EDA.
