The San Bernardino Police Officers Association today released polling results that they believe shows that city residents support the police unions' effort to oust Police Chief Michael Billdt.

The union's press release reports that 39.5 percent of San Bernardino voters support the Police Officer's Association's no confidence vote against Billdt. The union reports that 19 percent of voters support the Police Chief.

Also in the poll:

-Billdt's approval rating came in at 34 percent

-Mayor Pat Morris' approval rating was reported at 46 percent, down from 57 percent in the autumn of 2007.

- 44 percent of San Bernardino voters think the city is headed in the wrong direction, while 43 percent of those polled think San Bernardino is improving.

NSON Opinion Research conducted the poll for the police union. The firm polled 400 people taken from a list of 6,355 randomly chosen registered voters. The margin of error in the poll is +/- 4 percent.

I am a registered voter and didn't get called for the poll so add my vote of "no confidence" for both Billdt and Morris.

But I never supported Morris anyway.....
