Sinfonia celebrates Dia de Los Muertos

| | Comments (1) |

Sinfonia Mexicana launches its 23rd season Nov. 1 with a Dia de Los Muertos concert at San Bernardino's California Theatre of Performing Arts.

The 7:30 p.m. concert draws from Mexico's rich cultural traditions in which a festival of life honors the dead.

The program includes Symphonic Mariachi Champana Nevin, a group of 28 mariachi and symphonic musicians, and Mexican vocalists Monica Abrego and Jorge Lopez Yanez.

For the first time, Ballet Folklorico Flores del Desierto, a local dance group from the high desert, will perform on the California Theatre stage.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35-$65 and may be purchased by calling the Sinfonia Mexicana office at (909) 884-3228. You may also order tickets through the Web site, www.sinfoniamexicana.com.

The California Theatre is at 562 W. Fourth St.
