Sacramento stiffs cities

| | Comments (0) |

The state government is not disbursing Vehicle License Fee revenue to cities this month.

A Nov. 8 Controller letter.pdf from State Controller John Chiang reports that there is no VLF money to provide to municipal officials after Department of Motor Vehicles and other costs are paid.

During Monday's meeting of the City Council, interim city manager Mark Weinberg said the state failed to make a $100,000 payment to San Bernardino.

Assistant city manageer Lori Sassoon added to Weinberg's remarks today. She said that one year ago, VLF revenues collected during October allowed the state to provide about $110,000 to the city.

And this year, the amount was zero.
