Magical history tour of Cajon Pass

Step back through time and explore the Cajon Pass, the ancient route of Indians, trappers and loggers, explorers and land speculators, rail passengers and early motorists.

"Exploring the Cajon Pass: Gateway into the San Bernardino Valley," a one-day course offered through Cal State San Bernardino's Office of Extended Education, will be conducted March 14.

Instructor is author/ historian/teacher Nick Cataldo. The class will involve a vehicle caravan, some walking and visiting historic sites.

Cost for non-credit is $78; there is an additional fee for one unit of college credit.

The class, which begins at 7 a.m. at the Summit Inn, continues until 4 p.m. Those interested may call the Office of Extended Education, (909) 537-5975 for space availability. Registration deadline is March 6.
