Here's a link to Mayor Pat Morris' statement.

Also, Sun cops reporter Stacia Glenn tells me that Police Chief Michael Billdt told her that he has an as-yet unrevealed plan to avoid police officer layoffs.

Well Mayor Morris says he is disappointed in the POA leadership.....as a taxpayer and resident of this city I am disappointed in Mayor Morris' leadership.

* He said he supported Los Padrinos yet was the tie-breaking vote to get rid of them.....
* He supports the employment extension of Chief Billdt - after promising to have him gone by March 2009.....
* Operation Phoenix - enough said......
* The shameful antics of the Mayor during City Attorney's race between Milligan and Penman.....
* The issues with Mike Miller and Glenn Baude.....
* Nepotisim - enough said.....
* Keeping Milligan on staff.....what about layoffs - why do you need TWO Code Enforcement Directors.....
The list could go on and on......

It is up to the POA to decide whether or not to accept this proposal. I'm sure if someone told Pat Morris he couldn't do what he wanted with his compensation as Mayor he wouldn't like it - - or be able to afford JimmyBoy on his staff.
The election is coming up and he won't be getting my vote!
