New police chief to be named Monday?

| | Comments (3) |

Mayoral chief of staff Jim Morris said this morning that Mayor Pat Morris is still on track to hire a new police chief by Monday.

The mayor and City Council are scheduled to meet in closed session Thursday to interview finalists for the job. If those interviews are successful, the council could ratify Pat Morris' selection on Monday.

Current police chief Michael Billdt has been in charge of the Police Department since 2006. He and other department administrators have had a rocky relationship with the rank and file, particularly during the last few months. The police union has voted no confidence against Billdt twice.

Hold on SBPD - just a few more short weeks and the cancer (Bildt and Kimball) will be gone! Sure wish the POA would throw a party.

But on the other hand heard that the good candidate got thrown out and we are bringing back an LAPD officer who couldn't survive there. Hasn't the mayor and his son heard what they have done for us in the past? They don't have a great track record. But hey its worth a try and Bildt and Kimball will be gone.

Hopefully our morale will pick up and the Admin that are scared of them will finally get a back bone and start doing whats best for the dept!

Boom is this why you filed a suit? So now with a law suit pending you won't be touched because the new admin will have to leave you alone because you have this pending? Good idea - way to ride out your last few years.

I'm sure Mayor Morris will name someone just as equally incompetent, underhanded, racist and malicious as Billdt, who in just two short years managed to sink his department to the lowest it has ever been. SB and its leadership (that means YOU Pat Morris) doesn't even have the sense to learn from its mistakes. Instead of bringing someone in to change the department for the better after Zimmon, they brought in someone even more incompetent and inarticulate. All Billdt has done is play cronyism by promoting all his pals from sergeant to captain in just two years (Boom, Kimball, Lemos, Henson, etc.) God help San Bernardino. I'm sure the next chief will be every bit as unqualified and incompetent - the perfect patsy to feed from the trough of Morris and Penman.

PUKE!

Best wishes to Chief Billdt in his well deserved retirement. You served for over thirty years and worked your way up. You were an aggressive street cop in the thick of it during the late seventies and eighties. You were a good detective and sergeant.

There are many of us who realize who and what has been behind all the garbage that has emanated from 710 N. "D" and the corner of 13th and "E". You can only control so much when you yourself can't come out and directly talk about issues. Naturally, the whiners, one's held accountable, and those who don't have the truth will cast stones, innuendo, and constantly spew hatred via misinformation and their own personal agenda. Not alot you can do about that except shake your head and realize there will always be those.

Anyway best wishes and hopefully as time passes the true cancers will be rooted out and sent away.
