Omnitrans announces fare hikes

Omnitrans reports the following fare increases for bus rides will go into effect Sept. 8:

Regular One-Way Ticket
The price increases to $1.50 from $1.35

Senior/Disability/Medicare One-Way
The price increases to 60 cents from 55 cents.

Regular 1-Day Pass
The price increases to $4 from $3.50

Senior/Disability/Medicare 1-Day Pass
The price increases to $1.85 from $1.60

Student 7-Day Pass
The price increases to $11 from $10.

Regular 31-Day Pass
The price increases to $47 from $45.

Student 31-Day Pass
The price increases to $35 from $33.

Senior/Disability/Medicare 31-Day Pass
The price increases to $23.50 from $22.50

The prices for a regular 7-Day Pass and a Senior/Disability/Medicare Pass remain at $15 and $7, respectively.

That sucks. I used to ride the bus here and there to help out with gas, but it appears there is no point in it, now. Whatever.

Did I read somewhere that Omnitrans is remodleing or relocating their bus depot due to the fumes? Could this price hike be due to to offset these expences? As many riders live close to their budgets this price increase will no doubt be felt mainly by those who can least afford it. I ask has Omnitrans explored all other options before impacting the riders in this fashion?
